Stomata or stoma is a pore, large numbers of which are present in the epidermis of leaves and young shoots. Each sotma is bordered by two semicircular guard cells. Stomata functions in gaseous exchange between the plant and the atmosphere.

Lenticel is any of the raised pores in the stems of woddy plants. The pore is formed by the cork cambium. Which at certain points produce a loose bulky form of cork that pushes through the outer tissues to create the lenticels. Lenticel function in gas exchange between the atmosphere and the internal tissues.
